Jonesburg Gardens Campground is a delightful campground nearby, and if you need a place to stay New Florence Days Inn is a good choice. At Heron Lake through the summertime highs are in the 80's. Once the sun is down it drops down to the 60's. Throughout the winter highs are generally in the 30's, and winter nights come with lows in the 10's to Heron Lake. Golden Eagle Lake is a nearby lake that you could have a look at. The annual rainfall here at Heron Lake

Do pop by Heron Lake Dam Lower if you're here at Heron Lake; after a long day outdoors Americas Best Inns-New Florence is a tremendous place to spend a night or two. This lake is so wonderful. While you're here at Heron Lake, you could also stop at charming Golden Eagle Lake, and you can stay the night at Deer Hollow Ranch. | |

 | 13 miles away 4 PHOTOS ...ge lots when another camper came in that was staying for 4 years and for whom this lot was better suited with multi-level cement areas and flower beds.
Lot 34 was a gravel pull through which was level and just fine. All lots have picnic tables and burn rings.
The owners, Kathy & Drew, were very helpful to us and very nice and accommodating. They plan family events for the campers and have a nice little store area for essentials. Just before we left, they were going to begin having homemade muffins and to-die-for cinnamon rolls at the store.
It is very dog friendly which is important to us.
The wi-fi works well and has an excellent signal.
The campground is easy to locate from I-70 Danville Exit and is quiet and has nice grounds including trails through the woods for hiking and enjoying nature. The swimming pool was closed for the winter as the weather was cool while we were there, so I didn't use the pool.
We did not use the bathrooms, showers or laundry facilities while there, though they do have them.
