A visit to Harrison Lake is always a good idea. This lake is so wonderful. Joachim Golf Course is a brilliant golf course close by, and hey, Buck Creek is a wonderful local stream. Ogles Lake Dam is a pretty place in the vicinity of Harrison Lake, and why not camp at St. Louis South RV Park if you're here at Harrison Lake. Harrison Lake gets a common amount of yearly precipitation; during May this area sees the most rain, and the driest month is January.

| | So much amusing stuff to do here in the Ozarks, too delightful to be true. Harrison Lake is not the only place nearby, Lake Horine is a nearby lake, and after a long day outdoors Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites FESTUS - SOUTH ST. LOUIS is a great site to spend a night or two. This lake is one of the great places here in the Ozarks. You could also take a look at Winsor Lake while you're here at Harrison Lake; it's nearby, and if you need a spot to stay | |

Drury Inn Festus is a delightful choice.
Just can't get enough of Harrison Lake. State Of Missouri is a brilliant local campground. Summertime highs at Harrison Lake usually tend to be in the 80's, and through the night it cools
down to the 60's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 30's; overnight lows at Harrison Lake through the winter usually drop into the 10's.

 | Lake Wauwanoka is not NEAR the Ozarks. It's a half-hour outside St. Louis and a good three t four hours from the Ozarks....We live in DeSoto, Mo. and would love to sail Lake Wauwanoka. Would that be possible?...My first memory visiting the lake was in 1956 at the age of five. Along with my parents and five other siblings we stayed with my grandmother in her small cottage. My father was put to work on home improvements and all of us were given small chores to help fix the cottage where she resided. Cousins, aunts and uncles would come out for a visit. Over the years to follow the lake sponsored summer events. July 4th, everyone decorated their canoes and pontoons. Our pontoon was decorated in a hawaiian theme. My cousins and I made grass skirts from the weeds that grew around the lake. Oh, did we itch but we won first place. Of all the memories of my summer visits one of my greatest was the box turtle that visited every morning for strawberries my grandmother gave him. She named him Joe. She painted a red streak on his back to identify him. Each year she would touch up the paint. For the next twenty years I visited, so did Joe.... |
