Golden Eagle Lake is not the only spot close by, Heron Lake is a close by lake; a splendid nearby hotel is Americas Best Inns-New Florence. Golden Eagle Lake gets a common amount of rain; May is the wettest month with most rain, and the driest of the months is January. All through the long summer days at Golden Eagle Lake highs are frequently in the 80's, and the night is a tad cooler of course, usually in the 60's. The wintertime brings highs down to the

| | 30's, and through the dark hours in the wintertime at Golden Eagle Lake temperatures sink to the 10's. A lake nearby is Golden Eagle Lake, and a good place to camp here at Golden Eagle Lake is Jonesburg Gardens Campground.
This lake is so wonderful. Golden Eagle Lake Dam is beautiful and it's near Golden Eagle Lake, and New Florence Days Inn is a fine location to get some rest. Camping is available at Deer Hollow Ranch. | |

We have a 40 ft 5th wheel tri axle using 50 amp service with full hookups.
Lot 1 was cement and very level. We agreed to change lots when another camper came in that was staying for 4 years and for whom this lot was better suited with multi-level cement areas and flower beds.
Lot 34 was a gravel pull through which was level and just fine. All lots have picnic tables and burn rings.
The owners, Kathy & Drew, were very helpful to us and very nice and accommodating. They plan family events for the campers and have a nice little store area for essentials. Just before we left, they were going to begin having homemade muffins and to-die-for cinnamon rolls at the store.
It is very dog friendly which is important to us.
The wi-fi works well and has an excellent signal.
The campground is easy to locate from I-70 Danville Exit and is quiet and has nice grounds including trails through the woods for hiking and enjoying nature. The swimming pool was closed for the winter as the weather was cool while we were there, so I didn't use the pool.
