A scenic lake like Grassy Pond next to Folk Pond is a wonderful place to explore, and there's great hiking along the Blue Ridge Trail. Summer brings highs in the 80's to Folk Pond, and throughout the night it cools down to the 60's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 40's with temperatures at Folk Pond dipping down into the 20's through winter nights. This lake is so wonderful. After a long day outdoors Motel 60 is a       splendid place to spend a night or two, and camping is available at McCormack Lake Campground. Folk Pond sees pretty high levels of rainfall; the month of May is the wettest with most of the rain, and the driest month of the year is January. That right there is a lot of cool things already but it goes on, the Ozarks has it all. A good close by hotel is Rusty Nail Motel, and if you came for an overnight stay Greer Campground is a nice place to camp.
