Fishermans Lake gets a typical amount of yearly rainfall; during the month of May you get the most rain around here, and January meanwhile is the driest month. This lake is so wonderful. If you get bored of Fishermans Lake, you could also visit nearby Spring Lake, and after a long day outdoors Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites FESTUS - SOUTH ST. LOUIS is a pleasant place to spend a night or two. Fishermans Lake really is in the middle of a striking outdoors paradise.

Gotta ski right? Hidden Valley is a wonderful place to do that. So much enjoyable stuff to do here in the Ozarks, too wonderful to be true. Fishermans Lake is a good spot to visit for more than one day, Cherokee Landing is a good
spot to camp nearby, and if you need a place to stay Super 8 Bonne Terre is a great choice. For the duration of the months of summer highs here at Fishermans Lake get into the 80's. Once the sun is down it dips down to the 60's. Throughout the winter highs are usually in the 30's, and overnight lows in the 10's for Fishermans Lake.

 | Lake Wauwanoka is not NEAR the Ozarks. It's a half-hour outside St. Louis and a good three t four hours from the Ozarks....We live in DeSoto, Mo. and would love to sail Lake Wauwanoka. Would that be possible?...My first memory visiting the lake was in 1956 at the age of five. Along with my parents and five other siblings we stayed with my grandmother in her small cottage. My father was put to work on home improvements and all of us were given small chores to help fix the cottage where she resided. Cousins, aunts and uncles would come out for a visit. Over the years to follow the lake sponsored summer events. July 4th, everyone decorated their canoes and pontoons. Our pontoon was decorated in a hawaiian theme. My cousins and I made grass skirts from the weeds that grew around the lake. Oh, did we itch but we won first place. Of all the memories of my summer visits one of my greatest was the box turtle that visited every morning for strawberries my grandmother gave him. She named him Joe. She painted a red streak on his back to identify him. Each year she would touch up the paint. For the next twenty years I visited, so did Joe.... |

All bass good seemingly hitting everything; Sunfish and Bluegill are good on live bait w/bobber combo; Catfish are fair on liver and goldfish; Crappie slow....
It's starting to heat up at the lake. I caught this one on a cricket with a bobber, about 5 feet in depth.... |

Cat fish like crazy after the spring stocking. bigg fish too.... only drawback is it is a pay lake and expensive.$$$ $3 to get in and $2.00/lb of fish you catch... no catch and release either... come prepared top catch um.... and pay.... |
