Many people like to go to Fabick Lake. This is no location for people who don’t like to have fun. There's tremendous hiking along the Cedar Bluff Trail, and Round Pond is a splendid lake close by. Fabick Lake is magnificent enough to spend more than a day at, Pine Crest Campground is a magnificent local campground, and a pleasant nearby hotel is Americas Best Inns Rolla. | | of the rain is May, and January is the month with the least moisture.
The Kaintuck Trail offers hiking at its best, and you'll almost certainly meet some people from Rolla here. Whohoo, so much cool stuff in one place! The Ozarks rocks! Fabick Lake is in the neighborhood of Bubbling Springs Dam which is a beautiful spot undeniably worth stopping at, and Peters Branch is close to Fabick Lake and is always a bliss to visit. Fabick Lake without first going for a hike along the Blossom Rock Trail; if you need a place to stay Super 8 Motel - Rolla is a pleasant choice.
This lake is located in the wonderful Ozarks. During the warmest time of the year
at Fabick Lake temperatures are ordinarily in the 80's. Once the sun is down it dips down to the 60's. The winter brings highs down to the 30's, and winter nights come with lows in the 10's to Fabick Lake. Now, you may feel that's
a lot but there's even more amusing things to do here in the Ozarks. If you came to camp Montauk State Park is a delightful site to do that. Lakes? Sure, Highway Lake is in the neighborhood.

Kaintuck Trail

...this trail is one of the largest I have ever seen. From the top, you will not know that you are on a bridge. From the bottom it looks like a large, deep cave through which light doesn't travel because of a bend in the tunnel. Follow the trail around the hill and you will find the other opening. Next time I will bring a flashlight so that I can explore a little.
The trails are popular with horseback riders and are as wide as sidewalks most of the time. In most places and the footing is good. A small percentage of the trail is made up of loose rock that can be bad for a weak ankle.
My only complaint is that the map I have is not accurate and the markers on the trees don't lend much confidence. Today I wound up walking an extra two hours because of a wrong turn. Looking at the Internet maps, I still can't find the path I was walking or the fenced meadows. In one spot the trail went through a chained gate. I didn't know if I would be trespassing so I turned right, followed a path around the field and found myself on some dirt road that is not marked. Maybe the ne... |
