     If you go for the outdoors you'll go for it here in the Ozarks. After a long day outdoors Super 8 Bonne Terre is a good place to spend a night or two, and get your heart pumping on the splendid whitewater of Black River - East Fork. Super 8 Potosi is a glorious place to get some rest, and a round of golf at nearby Fourche Valley Golf Club is a great way to kill some time. An average amount of rain falls at Elsey Lake; the wettest month of the year is typically  
   May, that's the one that rains the most, and January meanwhile is the driest month.
Whohoo, so many fun things in one place! Elsey Lake is so good! Russell Elsey Lake is a nice lake right next door to Elsey Lake, and going for a hike on the Trace Creek Trail is always a great adventure. You'll beyond doubt wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the exciting stuff in the Ozarks. You can run the rapids of Stouts Creek near Elsey Lake; if you came for an
 
               overnight stay Wild Boar Ridge Campground is a nice location to camp. Elsey Lake is one of the lakes here in the Ozarks.
Lakes are such calm locations, why not explore Pine Tree Lake East in the vicinity of Elsey Lake, and you can go for a hike on the Berryman Trail. This lake is so wonderful. You don’t have to go far from Elsey Lake to observe the water at Russell Elsey Dam, and Hazel Creek Campground is a nice campground nearby. At Elsey Lake throughout the warm months highs are in the 90's while overnight lows are generally in the 60's. For the period of the wintertime this place gets highs in the 40's, and nighttime lows at Elsey Lake throughout the wintertime generally dip into the 10's.

Good luck, I have been fishing here for years and I have yet to see anyone but me and a few buddies catch anything. Most of the people that hang out here are a bucnch drunks and are here to party. If you take your time and learn the lake you can catch alot of bass and as many redear you can eat. Just stay away from the local drunks....

Nostalgic Place is a favorite for many hikers after long days on the trail. Their beds are heavenly and they treat you like family. Check out their website at www.nostalgicplace.com it is awesome...............I have never seen white water on the Black River. I have on the St. Francios....

why drain a national park's lake? this is all we have up here and now there is little left! STOP the draining of our lake! there are animals dieing because of it! there was also more money spent here in north dakota when the lake was a lot fuller. come look and see what damage your stupid missouri is costing at the lake! i go there every year and more and more water is gone for what? notheing! now that there is not a lot of water left people have to find a a different place to go. they cant even keep there boats at fort stevenson because it is BONE DRY! missouri, you need to close down your falls because there is more money made here and it not fair that a NATIONAL PARK Can Not survive because of you!! there should be no reason why a NAtional park should close. also the lake was here before your stupid idea even came around. there for it is our right to protect what we have:our future,homes, and last but not least, our lake and population....

Cat fish like crazy after the spring stocking. bigg fish too.... only drawback is it is a pay lake and expensive.$$$ $3 to get in and $2.00/lb of fish you catch... no catch and release either... come prepared top catch um.... and pay....
