Man, is there heaps of entertaining stuff to do in close proximity to Elm Pond. If you get bored of Elm Pond, you could also stop at close by Lair Lake; while you're here why not stop by Crumbly Hollow. But wait, there's more enjoyable things to do in the Ozarks. A lake close by is Hide A Way Lake, and Elm Pond is a glorious location to visit for more than one day, North Fork Campground is a glorious location to camp nearby. For the period of the winter the highs are mostly in the 40's with temperatures at Elm Pond dipping down into the 10's during winter nights. Elm Pond is one of the lakes here in the Ozarks. nearby. This lake is so wonderful. While you're here at Elm Pond you will meet lots of people from nearby West Plains, and do put some time aside to spend at Big Spring since you're here at Elm Pond.

Take a picnic basket on the 3/4 mile hike to Inspiration Point, where you may relax on a park bench and enjoy the spectacular view of the North Fork River. The trail is well marked and at a gentle enough incline for almost anyone to make the trip. We have about 5 miles of mapped trails.
The River of Life Spring On your Ozark nature hike, enjoy the River of Life Spring as the small babbling brook it makes on its way to the North Fork River.
While hiking, you're likely to encounter a few of the many species of wildlife that inhabit or visit the grounds including deer, turkey, bald eagles, raccoons, and bob cats. As you explore the woodlands, bluffs, ravines, cave, and riverside you're sure to encounter a few of these local residents, as well as others.
