A visit to DeSoto Lake is always a good idea. There are other places here than DeSoto Lake, for example Spring Lake, and lots of folks from Farmington come here. This lake is so wonderful. If you came to camp State Of Missouri is a magnificent place to do that, and Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites FESTUS - SOUTH ST. LOUIS is a splendid spot to get some rest. The yearly rain here at DeSoto Lake is about average; May is the wettest month with most rain while

Not far from DeSoto Lake, you'll hit upon Fishermans Lake which is a delightful lake, and a golf course nearby is Cottonwood Golf Course. High temperatures at DeSoto Lake all through the warm months are in the 80's. For the duration of the dark hours of summer temperatures dip down into the 60's. All through the winter this place gets highs in the 30's; nighttime lows at DeSoto Lake through the wintertime usually sink | |

into the 10's. If only every place had this much outdoors fun things, what a great earth it would be. You don’t have to go far from DeSoto Lake to make out the water at Spring Lake Dam.
If you want a tremendous time in the great
outdoors just come on up to the Ozarks. There's so much to do here at DeSoto Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Cherokee Landing is a delightful place for that; if you need a place to stay Super 8 Motel Bonne Terre is a great choice. DeSoto Lake is located in the Ozarks.

 | Lake Wauwanoka is not NEAR the Ozarks. It's a half-hour outside St. Louis and a good three t four hours from the Ozarks....We live in DeSoto, Mo. and would love to sail Lake Wauwanoka. Would that be possible?...My first memory visiting the lake was in 1956 at the age of five. Along with my parents and five other siblings we stayed with my grandmother in her small cottage. My father was put to work on home improvements and all of us were given small chores to help fix the cottage where she resided. Cousins, aunts and uncles would come out for a visit. Over the years to follow the lake sponsored summer events. July 4th, everyone decorated their canoes and pontoons. Our pontoon was decorated in a hawaiian theme. My cousins and I made grass skirts from the weeds that grew around the lake. Oh, did we itch but we won first place. Of all the memories of my summer visits one of my greatest was the box turtle that visited every morning for strawberries my grandmother gave him. She named him Joe. She painted a red streak on his back to identify him. Each year she would touch up the paint. For the next twenty years I visited, so did Joe.... |

All bass good seemingly hitting everything; Sunfish and Bluegill are good on live bait w/bobber combo; Catfish are fair on liver and goldfish; Crappie slow....
It's starting to heat up at the lake. I caught this one on a cricket with a bobber, about 5 feet in depth.... |
