Missouri has many beautiful lakes and Dairy Pond is one of them. Yeah, come up here to the Ozarks for a pleasant time. If you need a place to stay Knights Inn St Robert is a magnificent choice, unsurprisingly you could also explore Slabtown Lake since you're here; it's not far at all. A good close by hotel is Candlewood Suites St. Robert; there is a pleasant hiking trail nearby called the Big Piney National Scenic Trail. Be careful coming to the Ozarks, you

| | might not ever want to return home again. A great site to camp here at Dairy Pond is Wilderness Ridge Resort, and playing golf is lots of fun at Piney Valley Golf Course.

the month of May is the wettest with most of the rain while January is the month with the least amount of precipitation. At Dairy Pond during the summer months highs are in the 90's while nighttime lows are mostly in the 60's. Daytime
highs through the wintertime are in the 40's with winter lows in the 10's overnight here at Dairy Pond.
Miller Spring is always fun to check out, and going for a hike on the Big Piney Trail is always a great adventure. This lake
is so wonderful. Dairy Pond is located in the Ozarks.

Kaintuck Trail

... that you are on a bridge. From the bottom it looks like a large, deep cave through which light doesn't travel because of a bend in the tunnel. Follow the trail around the hill and you will find the other opening. Next time I will bring a flashlight so that I can explore a little.
The trails are popular with horseback riders and are as wide as sidewalks most of the time. In most places and the footing is good. A small percentage of the trail is made up of loose rock that can be bad for a weak ankle.
My only complaint is that the map I have is not accurate and the markers on the trees don't lend much confidence. Today I wound up walking an extra two hours because of a wrong turn. Looking at the Internet maps, I still can't find the path I was walking or the fenced meadows. In one spot the trail went through a chained gate. I didn't know if I would be trespassing so I turned right, followed a path around the field and found myself on some dirt road that is not marked. Maybe the next time the park service is out clearing fallen trees or doing their controlled bur... |
Arlington River Resort

We are close to many natural attractions such as Duerson Slide, Gollahon Spring, Kaintuck Trail, and Poole Hollow. There are just too many to name. Arlington is also within a half hour of Ft. Leonard Wood Army Base, Univerisity of Missouri-Rolla, and many local wineries.
