    The beauty of Curry Lake is reason enough to stop by. This place, Curry Lake, it absolutely has so much outdoors fun stuff. A quick journey to North Fork Turkey Creek near Curry Lake is a great idea, and Cooper's Landing Campground is a splendid local campground. Why not camp at Pine Grove Village MHP if you're here at Curry Lake, and there are other locations here than Curry Lake, for example Bass Lake. Curry Lake gets a typical amount of rainfall; the wettest  
   month of the year is mostly May, that's the one that rains the most, and January is when it's the driest.
Peterson Lake is a nice lake near Curry Lake. While you're here at Curry Lake you can take a hike along the Cedar Creek Hiking Trail, and if you need a place to stay Super 8 Columbia/Lake Of The Woods is a delightful choice. Summer brings highs in the 80's to Curry Lake. When the night sets in temperatures sink down into the 60's. During the wintertime
 
               highs are commonly in the 30's; through the dark hours in the winter at Curry Lake temperatures sink to the 10's.
This lake is so wonderful. Eagle Knoll Golf Club is a good golf course nearby, and there's whitewater on Hinkson Creek for all you thrill seekers. Dry warm beds await you at Courtyard by Marriott Columbia Missouri; Curry Lake is a location with many visitors from Jefferson City.

There is a gage at Providence Rd, you can check water levels at this link: http://waterdata.usgs.gov/nwis/uv/?site_no=06910230&agency_cd=USGS My unladen solo canoe can scoot by at 30cfs, any less than that and I'm dragging. ...As of 6/18/2008, there is nowhere near enough water in the stream at the put-in (or much of the rest of the stream) for any kind of paddle-craft....This is a fun, after work run when the water is moving. There are no defined rapids, although there are several modest playspots: 1)S-Turn, near the back of the Walmart site, and 2) The Ultimate Surfing Wave which is downstream from the Old 63 bridge. Hazards include two low water crossings in the Stephens Golf Course. Portage is highly recommended at high water as the crossings act as low head dams. Water quality in the Spring can be an issue and several boaters in years past have contracted leptosporosis (aka lepto) from involuntarily ingesting the water. Mostly the Hink' is a fun float on moving water with enough wave action and eddys to keep things interesting. Suitable for canoes and kayaks. ...
