Why not stop by Crane Lake if you're passing through these parts. Fort Davidson Motel & Restaurant is a tremendous place to get some rest, and Big Creek has a tremendous whitewater paddling spot nearby. All the water falling down from the sky makes Crane Lake a wet spot; March is when you get the most rain here; January on the other hand is the driest. | | 60's. Daytime highs during the wintertime are in the 40's; winter nights come with lows in the 20's to Crane Lake.
This lake is so wonderful. If the weather is glorious here at Crane Lake, you can go for a hike along the Taum Sauk Trail, and in case you don’t mind getting soaked, you can always go whitewater paddling on Crane Pond Creek.
