If you need a place to stay Lee's Summit Inn & Suites is a tremendous choice; Bluestem Lake Dam is wonderful. This lake is so wonderful. Blue River has a great whitewater paddling spot nearby, and if you get bored of Coot Lake you could also pop by close by Plover Lake. Summertime highs at Coot Lake generally tend to be in the 80's. Once the       sun is down it dips down to the 60's. Throughout the wintertime this place gets highs in the 30's, and winter nights come with lows in the 10's to Coot Lake. This is a popular place for folks from Kansas City, and a brilliant location to camp here at Coot Lake is Peculiar Park Place. Coot Lake is a good location of normal rain; during the month of June you get the most rain around here, and the driest month of the year is February.
