Cook Lake is nice enough to spend more than a day at, Rutlader Outpost is a nice local campground; Lake Annette is a nearby lake that you could stop by. This lake is so wonderful. If you need a place to stay Comfort Inn Belton is a great choice; a great place for whitewater paddling is Blue River. The annual rain here       at Cook Lake is about average; June is the wettest month with most rain, and February is when it's the driest. Dry warm beds await you at Econo Lodge Belton. There's so much to do here at Cook Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Peculiar Park Place is a glorious site for that. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this spot. Summer brings highs in the 80's to Cook Lake. All through the dark hours of summer temperatures descend down into the 60's.
