This lake is one of the great places here in the Ozarks. If you have a thing about the outdoors, you'll go for Colwil Lake. Stay the night at Eminence Canoes - cottages - & Campground, and Coot Mountain is gorgeous and can be spotted from here. A trip to Ozark National Scenic River is recommended; Powder Mill Campground is a perfect campground nearby. Throughout the long summer days       at Colwil Lake temperatures are frequently in the 80's. For the duration of the moonlight hours it's frequently in the 60's. All through the winter this place gets highs in the 40's with winter lows in the 20's overnight here at Colwil Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Church Pond is a pleasant lake near Colwil Lake, and since you're here at Colwil Lake, checking out Red Rock is a must. A short trip to Coot Chute is always worthwhile, and Jacks Fork is one of the                  streams close by that might be worth stopping at. Be careful coming to the Ozarks, you might not ever want to go home again. Lakes are such calm sites, why not explore Nichols Pond right next door to Colwil Lake; Barn Hollow is a nice location to spend some time. That right there is loads of amusing stuff already but it goes on, the Ozarks has it all. There's always Colwil Dam to explore in the vicinity of Colwil Lake.
