    Go to Coats Lake if you want to go to a nice lake. Baymont Inn & Suites Columbia is a great location to get some rest. Lakes? Sure, Little Leech Lake is in the neighborhood. During the summertime highs here at Coats Lake reach the 80's, and the nighttime is quite colder of course, regularly in the 60's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 30's, and through the dark hours in the wintertime at Coats Lake temperatures dip to the 10's. This lake is so wonderful.  
   Dry warm beds await you at La Quinta Inn AND Suites Columbia, and since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always have a look at close by Hunt Lake.
Visit Barclay Branch if you're here at Coats Lake; Cottonwoods RV Park is a fine local campground. So many enjoyable things in close proximity to Coats Lake, just unbelievable. Coats Lake is a fine spot to visit for more than one day, Cooper's Landing Campground is a fine spot to camp nearby. Lots of

There is a gage at Providence Rd, you can check water levels at this link: http://waterdata.usgs.gov/nwis/uv/?site_no=06910230&agency_cd=USGS My unladen solo canoe can scoot by at 30cfs, any less than that and I'm dragging. ...As of 6/18/2008, there is nowhere near enough water in the stream at the put-in (or much of the rest of the stream) for any kind of paddle-craft....This is a fun, after work run when the water is moving. There are no defined rapids, although there are several modest playspots: 1)S-Turn, near the back of the Walmart site, and 2) The Ultimate Surfing Wave which is downstream from the Old 63 bridge. Hazards include two low water crossings in the Stephens Golf Course. Portage is highly recommended at high water as the crossings act as low head dams. Water quality in the Spring can be an issue and several boaters in years past have contracted leptosporosis (aka lepto) from involuntarily ingesting the water. Mostly the Hink' is a fun float on moving water with enough wave action and eddys to keep things interesting. Suitable for canoes and kayaks. ...
