| | than one day, Hickory Haven Campground is a good site to camp nearby, and there's some exciting stuff to make out at Clark Lake Dam close to Clark Lake. Through the long summer days highs here at Clark Lake get into the 80's. Once the sun is down it sinks down to the 60's. Throughout the wintertime highs are ordinarily in the 30's, and winter nights come with lows in the 10's to Clark Lake. Crooked Creek is a fine location to go to, and get wet paddling | |

Cedar Creek
 | 15 miles away 1 PHOTO In response to keith's note. I've kayaked Cedar Creek several times. During heavy rain events the creek is VERY wild. And while yes it is bony, it's a fun ride.. especially since it's one of the only places to get above a class II ride around quincy. Additionally, DO NOT go to bear creek unless you plan on doing some flat water near where it meets the mississippi river. Any further upstream and you'll be dealing with hostile landowners who aren't aware of the navigability laws in illinois. You'll probably be met by a sherrif on the take out.
