     Here at Clark Lake you'll perhaps meet some folks from Quincy, and if you need a location to stay Comfort Inn Canton is a magnificent choice. Do take a look at Bruns Lake near Clark Lake, it's a striking lake. You'll need more than a day to discover everything Clark Lake has to offer, you can camp at Camp Hickory Haven, and while you're here, you could also explore scenic Lloyd Lake South. This lake is so wonderful. Clark Lake is a good site to visit for more  
   than one day, Hickory Haven Campground is a good site to camp nearby, and there's some exciting stuff to make out at Clark Lake Dam close to Clark Lake.
Through the long summer days highs here at Clark Lake get into the 80's. Once the sun is down it sinks down to the 60's. Throughout the wintertime highs are ordinarily in the 30's, and winter nights come with lows in the 10's to Clark Lake. Crooked Creek is a fine location to go to, and get wet paddling
 
               on Bear Creek. An average amount of rain falls at Clark Lake; throughout July this area sees the most rain while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation.

In response to keith's note. I've kayaked Cedar Creek several times. During heavy rain events the creek is VERY wild. And while yes it is bony, it's a fun ride.. especially since it's one of the only places to get above a class II ride around quincy. Additionally, DO NOT go to bear creek unless you plan on doing some flat water near where it meets the mississippi river. Any further upstream and you'll be dealing with hostile landowners who aren't aware of the navigability laws in illinois. You'll probably be met by a sherrif on the take out. See uploaded picture of cedar creek a couple of years ago....
