More of a pond. There is a boat ramp however no gas engines are allowed. The Steamboat Trace Trail offers hiking at its best, and Super 8 Motel - Nebraska City, Ne is a great place to get some rest. If you came for an overnight stay Rock Port KOA is a fine location to camp; hey, McElroy Creek is a good local stream. One of the main characteristics of the surroundings of Charity Lake is Brickyard Hill, and if you need a spot to stay Super 8 Motel - Rock Port is a perfect choice. Not sufficient       hours in a day to enjoy this spot. Charity Lake Dam is worth visiting since you're here; there's delightful hiking along the Waubonsie State Park Trail. Lakes? Sure, Oswald Lake is nearby. This lake is so wonderful. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always stop by nearby Horseshoe Lake; great hiking is available along the Indian Cave State Park Trails. Throughout the months of summer at Charity Lake highs are frequently in the 80's, and                  the nighttime is slightly cooler of course, frequently in the 60's.
