Do stop by Chain of Lakes while you're in this part of Missouri. Don't miss out on a tour to Ozark National Scenic River if you're here at Chain of Lakes; you can go for a hike on the Crane Lake Trail. Chain of Lakes gets a great deal of water; during March this area sees the most rain, and the driest month of the year is January. High temperatures at Chain of Lakes throughout the warmest time of the year are in the 90's while night lows are generally in the

| | 60's. High temperatures all through the winter are normally in the 40's; nighttime lows at Chain of Lakes during the wintertime commonly dip into the 10's.
If you come at the right time of year, Big Creek offers some great whitewater, and let's not forget Black Creek which is a stream that you may run into while here. to Chain of Lakes, and glorious hiking is available along the Johnson Natural Area Backpack Trail.
This lake is so wonderful. A nice location to stop at close to Chain of Lakes is Des Acre Hollow, unsurprisingly you could also
check out Shy Lake since you're here; it's not far at all. This lake is so wonderful. Just can't get enough of the Ozarks. Sam A Baker State Park is a tremendous local campground; hiking is a popular thing to do around Chain of Lakes;
Taum Sauk Trail is a wonderful local trail.
And if that's not enough there's lots more amusing things to do in the Ozarks. There are some tremendous whitewater spots on Crane Pond Creek, and if you came for an overnight stay Big Creek RV Park is a tremendous place to camp.
