There's so much to do here at Cates Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Kan-Do Kampground and RV Park is a great site for that, and at Cates Lake you always meet someone from Mexico. Americas Best Inns-New Florence is a pleasant spot to get some rest, and you'll come across a beautiful lake called Frumar Lake. Cates Lake is magnificent enough to spend more than a day at, Lazy Day Campground is a magnificent local campground, and a splendid nearby

The amount of precipitation that falls at Cates Lake is close to the national average; of all the months in a year May is the one with the most rain while January is the month with the least amount of precipitation. like Carl Dreyer Lake is a delightful site to take a look at. Through the months of summer at Cates Lake temperatures are mostly in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures fall down into the 60's. Throughout the winter highs are in the 30's with winter lows in the 10's overnight here at Cates Lake.

Lot 1 was cement and very level. We agreed to change lots when another camper came in that was staying for 4 years and for whom this lot was better suited with multi-level cement areas and flower beds.
Lot 34 was a gravel pull through which was level and just fine. All lots have picnic tables and burn rings.
The owners, Kathy & Drew, were very helpful to us and very nice and accommodating. They plan family events for the campers and have a nice little store area for essentials. Just before we left, they were going to begin having homemade muffins and to-die-for cinnamon rolls at the store.
It is very dog friendly which is important to us.
The wi-fi works well and has an excellent signal.
The campground is easy to locate from I-70 Danville Exit and is quiet and has nice grounds including trails through the woods for hiking and enjoying nature. The swimming pool was closed for the winter as the weather was cool while we were there, so I didn't use the pool.
