The beauty of Carlton Lake attracts many people from all around. There are magnificent places to look at along the Johnson Natural Area Backpack Trail, and a fine nearby hotel is Super 8 Motel. Carlton Lake is one of the lakes here in the Ozarks. You completely should have a thing about the Ozarks. Hurricane Creek is a nice place to take a look at, and SUPER 8 MOTEL - POPLAR BLUFF is a wonderful place to get some rest.

An interesting thing to take a look at close to Carlton Lake is Carlton Lake Dam, and don't leave Carlton Lake without first going for a hike along the Lost Creek Nature Trail. A brilliant place to camp here at Carlton Lake is Camelot RV Campground, and this is a popular location for people from Poplar Bluff. Man, is there a load of cool stuff to do in the Ozarks. This lake is so wonderful. If you come at the right time of year, Black River offers some splendid whitewater, and if you have the time, Ozark National Scenic River is a national park
worth visiting. At Carlton Lake through the summer months highs are in the 90's. During the dark hours of summer temperatures dip down into the 60's. High temperatures through the winter are normally in the 40's, and throughout the
dark hours in the winter at Carlton Lake temperatures fall to the 10's. Much precipitation falls at Carlton Lake; the month with most of the rain is March; the driest month of the year is January.
