The Ozarks scenery is always beautiful. After a long day outdoors Quality Inn Near Six Flags St. Louis is a wonderful place to spend a night or two, and a fine spot to camp here at Buhl Lake is KOA St. Louis West. Just can't get enough of the Ozarks. Hit the slopes at Hidden Valley close by, and a scenic lake like Lake Tekakwitha is a great site to visit.
This lake is so wonderful. Buhl Lake is perfect enough to spend more than a day at, Yogi Bear's Jellystone

| | Camp is a perfect local campground; right next door to Buhl Lake you come across a golf course called Fox Run Golf Club. The yearly rain here at Buhl Lake is about average; May is the month that gets the most rain, and January is the month with the least moisture. Any time is a splendid time at Buhl Lake if you like the outdoors. Gem Lake is a fine lake close to Buhl Lake; dry warm beds await you at Super 8 Eureka/Six Flags Nearby.

there's plenty more amusing stuff to do in the Ozarks. You might want to pay a visit to Catawissa Hollow if you're here at Buhl Lake. Throughout the months of summer highs here at Buhl Lake get into the 80's. For the duration of the
dark hours of summer temperatures sink down into the 60's. Highs through the winter are regularly in the 30's, and winter nights come with lows in the 10's to Buhl Lake. Visit McFall Creek if you're here at Buhl Lake, and Junior Lake Dam Alfred Buhl is a delightful location, unquestionably worth taking a look at.

Lake Wauwanoka is not NEAR the Ozarks. It's a half-hour outside St. Louis and a good three t four hours from the Ozarks....We live in DeSoto, Mo. and would love to sail Lake Wauwanoka. Would that be possible?...My first memory visiting the lake was in 1956 at the age of five. Along with my parents and five other siblings we stayed with my grandmother in her small cottage. My father was put to work on home improvements and all of us were given small chores to help fix the cottage where she resided. Cousins, aunts and uncles would come out for a visit. Over the years to follow the lake sponsored summer events. July 4th, everyone decorated their canoes and pontoons. Our pontoon was decorated in a hawaiian theme. My cousins and I made grass skirts from the weeds that grew around the lake. Oh, did we itch but we won first place. Of all the memories of my summer visits one of my greatest was the box turtle that visited every morning for strawberries my grandmother gave him. She named him Joe. She painted a red streak on his back to identify him. Each year she would touch up the paint. For the next twenty years I visited, so did Joe.... |
