Comfort Inn Canton is a glorious location to get some rest, and at Bruns Lake you always meet someone from Quincy. This lake is so wonderful. You're probably addicted to lakes, McCullough South Dam is one of those close by, and if you come at the right time of year, Bear Creek offers some nice whitewater. Summertime highs at Bruns Lake usually tend to be in the 80's. Throughout the moonlight hours it's mostly in the 60's. The wintertime brings highs down to
the 30's, and nighttime lows during the winter for Bruns Lake tend to be in the 10's. Camping is available at Hickory Haven Campground. Lakes are glorious; Lloyd Lake North is a lake that's in the neighborhood of Bruns Lake.
And that's not all you can do here at Bruns Lake. Why not camp at Camp Hickory Haven since you're here at Bruns Lake, and after a long day outdoors Days Inn Quincy is a tremendous site to spend a night or two. Bruns Lake gets a normal

amount of annual rain; July is the month that gets the most rain, and February is the month with the least moisture. A quick spree to Artesian Branch right next door to Bruns Lake is a great idea; whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then, we recommend Cedar Creek.

In response to keith's note. I've kayaked Cedar Creek several times. During heavy rain events the creek is VERY wild. And while yes it is bony, it's a fun ride.. especially since it's one of the only places to get above a class II ride around quincy. Additionally, DO NOT go to bear creek unless you plan on doing some flat water near where it meets the mississippi river. Any further upstream and you'll be dealing with hostile landowners who aren't aware of the navigability laws in illinois. You'll probably be met by a sherrif on the take out. See uploaded picture of cedar creek a couple of years ago....
