A visit to Bowles Pond is always a good idea. This lake is so wonderful. Camping is available at Big Springs River Camp; whitewater paddling is delightful on Taum Sauk Creek. During the warm months highs here at Bowles Pond reach the 80's. For the duration of the dark hours of summer temperatures sink down into the 60's. The winter brings highs down to the 40's, and night lows at Bowles Pond during the winter commonly drop into the 20's. Be careful coming

Bowles Pond is a beautiful lake in the Ozarks. Vinson Branch is one of the streams nearby that might be worth visiting, and in case you don’t mind getting drenched, you can always go whitewater paddling on Black River - East Fork. Camping at Powder Mill Campground is always a wonderful experience; Lily Pond is a nearby lake that you could explore. Bowles Pond sees pretty high levels of rain; all through the month of November you get the most rain around here, and the driest month is January.
