Big V Ranch Lake is always a pleasure to visit. Big V Ranch Lake gets a common amount of annual precipitation; May is the wettest month with most rain, and January on the other hand is the driest. What a site this is for outdoors folks. Bluegrass Pickin' Time Campground is a good local campground; dry warm beds await you at St. Robert-Days Inn Waynesville/Ft. Leonard Wood. During the summertime at Big V Ranch Lake highs are mostly in the 90's with nighttime

| | lows in the 60's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 30's; winter nights come with lows in the 10's to Big V Ranch Lake. Best Western Montis Inn is a fine spot to get some rest, and Big V Ranch Lake is a location with many visitors from Fort Leonard Wood. Nearby lakes? of Big V Ranch Lake; a quick spree to Prairie Creek is certainly a good idea. Big V Ranch Lake is one of the lakes here in the Ozarks. So much cool stuff to do in the Ozarks, not sufficient time. Don't leave Big V Ranch Lake without
first going for a hike along the Kaintuck Trail, naturally you could also check out Murphy Lake since you're here; it's not far at all. There's no way anyone can get bored here in the Ozarks. Big V Ranch Lake is a great spot to visit for more than one day, Scenic 63 RV Park is a great spot to camp nearby.

Kaintuck Trail
 | 14 miles away ...u will not know that you are on a bridge. From the bottom it looks like a large, deep cave through which light doesn't travel because of a bend in the tunnel. Follow the trail around the hill and you will find the other opening. Next time I will bring a flashlight so that I can explore a little.
The trails are popular with horseback riders and are as wide as sidewalks most of the time. In most places and the footing is good. A small percentage of the trail is made up of loose rock that can be bad for a weak ankle.
My only complaint is that the map I have is not accurate and the markers on the trees don't lend much confidence. Today I wound up walking an extra two hours because of a wrong turn. Looking at the Internet maps, I still can't find the path I was walking or the fenced meadows. In one spot the trail went through a chained gate. I didn't know if I would be trespassing so I turned right, followed a path around the field and found myself on some dirt road that is not marked.
