Bear Creek Reservoir is always a pleasure to visit. Injun Joe Campground is a delightful campground nearby, and after a long day outdoors Quality Inn & Suites is a perfect location to spend a night or two. Bear Creek Reservoir is not far at all from Hannibal. Lakes are perfect; McKay Lake is a lake that's next to Bear Creek Reservoir. High temperatures at Bear Creek Reservoir during the warmest time of the year are in the 80's, and all through the night it

| | cools down to the 60's. Throughout the winter highs are in the 30's, and nighttime lows at Bear Creek Reservoir during the wintertime typically drop into the 10's. Yep, outdoors amusing stuff to do are in fact abundant here at Bear Creek Reservoir.  | 14 miles away 1 PHOTO In response to keith's note. I've kayaked Cedar Creek several times. During heavy rain events the creek is VERY wild. And while yes it is bony, it's a fun ride.. especially since it's one of the only places to get above a class II ride around quincy. Additionally, DO NOT go to bear creek unless you plan on doing some flat water near where it meets the mississippi river. Any further upstream and you'll be dealing with hostile landowners who aren't aware of the navigability laws in illinois. You'll probably be met by a sherrif on the take out.
