Many people like to go to Bass Lake. No way I can stop, cause I'm havin' a perfect time here at Bass Lake. After a long day outdoors Super 8 Columbia/Lake Of The Woods is a good site to spend a night or two; going for a hike along the Cedar Creek Hiking Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this area. This lake is so wonderful. Looking for something close to Bass Lake? Peterson Lake is close by, and playing golf is lots of fun at University of Missouri-Columbia

While you're here at Bass Lake you will meet lots of folks from nearby Columbia, and why not camp at Pine Grove Village MHP if you're here at Bass Lake. Through the warm months, highs typically are in the 80's at Bass Lake, and throughout the night it cools down to the 60's. High temperatures during the wintertime are normally in the 30's with winter lows in the 10's overnight here | |

Lake is a nearby lake; paddling on Hinkson Creek is so much fun. Bass Lake gets a typical amount of rainfall; the month with most of the rain is May while January is ordinarily the driest month.

 | There is a gage at Providence Rd, you can check water levels at this link: http://waterdata.usgs.gov/nwis/uv/?site_no=06910230&agency_cd=USGS My unladen solo canoe can scoot by at 30cfs, any less than that and I'm dragging. ...As of 6/18/2008, there is nowhere near enough water in the stream at the put-in (or much of the rest of the stream) for any kind of paddle-craft....This is a fun, after work run when the water is moving. There are no defined rapids, although there are several modest playspots: 1)S-Turn, near the back of the Walmart site, and 2) The Ultimate Surfing Wave which is downstream from the Old 63 bridge. Hazards include two low water crossings in the Stephens Golf Course. Portage is highly recommended at high water as the crossings act as low head dams. Water quality in the Spring can be an issue and several boaters in years past have contracted leptosporosis (aka lepto) from involuntarily ingesting the water. Mostly the Hink' is a fun float on moving water with enough wave action and eddys to keep things interesting. Suitable for canoes and kayaks. ... |
