If you want a nice time in the great outdoors just come on up to the Ozarks. Whippoorwill Lake is a good campground nearby, and going for a hike on the Lost Creek Nature Trail is always a good adventure. Barks Lake sees pretty high levels of rainfall; May is the wettest month with most rain, and January is when it's the driest.
High temperatures at Barks Lake during the summertime months are in the 90's, and through summer nights temperatures are in the

| | 60's. Throughout the winter highs are in the 40's, and after the sun is down through the wintertime temperatures at Barks Lake plunge into the 10's. This lake is one of the great places here in the Ozarks. Blue Pond is a tremendous lake close to Barks Lake, and you can go for a hike on the Pine Ridge Nature Trail.
