     There's fine hiking along the Lick Creek Trail, and lakes are such peaceful places, why not stop by Eisele Lake. At Auwarter Lake during the days of summer highs are in the 90's, and throughout the night it cools down to the 60's. Daytime highs through the winter are in the 30's, and throughout the dark hours in the wintertime at Auwarter Lake temperatures plunge to the 10's. People from Mexico love to come to Auwarter Lake, and a fine close by hotel is Country  
   Inn & Stes By Carlson, Kansas City At Village West.
This is no place for people who don’t like to enjoy themselves. A striking lake like Alton Lake in the vicinity of Auwarter Lake is a tremendous site to pop by; if you need a location to stay Days Inn Mexico is a great choice. Auwarter Lake gets a normal amount of rain; the wettest month of the year is generally May, that's the one that rains the most while January is the month with the least amount of
 
               precipitation. This lake is so wonderful. Eisele Lake Dam is not far at all from Auwarter Lake. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Auwarter Lake has to offer, you can camp at Salt River Campground.
The Hickory Bluff Trail offers hiking at its best. There's so much to do here at Auwarter Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Mark Twain Landing is a perfect place for that.

...camper came in that was staying for 4 years and for whom this lot was better suited with multi-level cement areas and flower beds.

Lot 34 was a gravel pull through which was level and just fine. All lots have picnic tables and burn rings.

The owners, Kathy & Drew, were very helpful to us and very nice and accommodating. They plan family events for the campers and have a nice little store area for essentials. Just before we left, they were going to begin having homemade muffins and to-die-for cinnamon rolls at the store.

It is very dog friendly which is important to us.

The wi-fi works well and has an excellent signal.

The campground is easy to locate from I-70 Danville Exit and is quiet and has nice grounds including trails through the woods for hiking and enjoying nature. The swimming pool was closed for the winter as the weather was cool while we were there, so I didn't use the pool.

We did not use the bathrooms, showers or laundry facilities while there, though they do have them.

We would definitely stay there again and in fact do p...
