A brilliant nearby hotel is Duer Hotel, and there is a perfect hiking trail nearby called the Shimek Forest Trail. All the outdoors fun things in the vicinity of Ashton Lake will keep you coming back again and again. Throughout the months of summer, highs frequently are in the 80's at Ashton Lake with nighttime lows in the 60's. The winter brings highs down to the 30's with temperatures       at Ashton Lake dipping down into the 10's through winter nights. Ashton Lake is a good spot of typical rainfall; the month of July is the wettest with most of the rain, and the driest of the months is February. There's always Seyb Lake Dam to go to in close proximity to Ashton Lake, and some close by water includes Linn Creek.
