     Lots of folks from Jefferson City come to Anderson Lake; Hampton Inn Capital Mall is a wonderful location to get some rest. This lake is so wonderful. The Cedar Creek Hiking Trail is a good hiking trail in the vicinity of Anderson Lake, and there are some fine whitewater spots on Hinkson Creek. Throughout the warmest time of the year highs here at Anderson Lake reach the 80's while nighttime lows are mostly in the 60's. Highs all through the winter are commonly  
   in the 30's while Anderson Lake overnight low temperatures throughout the wintertime are in the 10's.
Cooper's Landing Campground is a magnificent campground nearby, and dry warm beds await you at Comfort Suites Jefferson City. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always take a look at nearby Woodward Lake, also Anderson Lake Dam is worth going to while you're here. This place, Anderson Lake, it absolutely has so much outdoors exciting stuff.
 
               If you came for an overnight stay Binder Park is a glorious place to camp, and needless to say, this is a nice region for people who like lakes, Binder Lake is a lake around here.
Anderson Lake gets a great deal of water; the month with most of the rain is May, and the driest of the months is January.

Let's get some data on Cedar Creek.  I just canoed it on 10/10/09,  and it was a hell of a fun ride....There is a gage at Providence Rd, you can check water levels at this link: http://waterdata.usgs.gov/nwis/uv/?site_no=06910230&agency_cd=USGS My unladen solo canoe can scoot by at 30cfs, any less than that and I'm dragging. ...As of 6/18/2008, there is nowhere near enough water in the stream at the put-in (or much of the rest of the stream) for any kind of paddle-craft....This is a fun, after work run when the water is moving. There are no defined rapids, although there are several modest playspots: 1)S-Turn, near the back of the Walmart site, and 2) The Ultimate Surfing Wave which is downstream from the Old 63 bridge. Hazards include two low water crossings in the Stephens Golf Course. Portage is highly recommended at high water as the crossings act as low head dams. Water quality in the Spring can be an issue and several boaters in years past have contracted leptosporosis (aka lepto) from involuntarily ingesting the water. Mostly the Hink' is a fun float on moving water with enough wave action and eddys to keep things interesting. Suitable for canoes and kayaks. ...
