     The beauty of Young Lake attracts many people from all around. Giants Ridge has glorious slopes and a friendly staff. This lake is so wonderful. St. Louis River has a delightful whitewater paddling spot close by. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Young Lake has to offer, you can camp at Eveleth Veteran's Park. Summer at Young Lake arrives with high temperatures in the 70's. Summer overnight lows sink down to the 50's. Highs during the winter  
   are generally in the 10's with winter lows in the-10's overnight here at Young Lake.
People from Duluth love to come to Young Lake, and after a long day outdoors Budget Host Virginia is a wonderful location to spend a night or two. Young Lake is usually a relatively dry place; June is the wettest month with most rain, and the driest of the months is February. So many entertaining things to do at Young Lake, so little time. Paleface Creek is a good site
 
               to check out; there are other sites here than Young Lake, for example Seasted Lake.
Paddling on Cloquet River is so much fun; Eveleth Super 8 Motel is a good site to get some rest. Not far from Young Lake, you'll hit upon Fig Lake which is a beautiful lake; Young Lake is a brilliant spot to visit for more than one day, Ico Campground is a brilliant spot to camp nearby.

Eveleth Veteran's Park
200 beautiful wooded acres in Northern Minnesota with a swimming beach and fishing pier. A boat landing is on the other end of this 5 mile long lake to easily launch your boat. 40 Camp Sites are available in a pristine wooded setting. This is a city owner campground, with showers, restrooms, and an RV Dump Station. Summer activites include monthy 'Movies in the Park', close proximity to the city golfcourse, an OHV Park, and easy access to the Mesabi Trail, a 130 mile long bike trail. The river is at least 100 miles long. I've paddled from Katherine Lake to the St. Louis River and there is plenty of river to paddle besides the section from US 53 to US 2. The top section, from Katherine Lake to Lake Co #2 is an especially wild ride, and I've only done it once, but the drop is incredible, sometimes like a logging flume....
