Summertime brings highs in the 70's to Winchester Lake, and during the night it cools down to the 50's. The winter brings highs down to the 10's, and winter nights come with lows in the-10's to Winchester Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Gateway Lodge and Suites is a tremendous spot       to get some rest; Thunderhook Camps is a great local campground. You'll discover a beautiful lake called Olive Lake near Winchester Lake, and if you need a location to stay Elbow Lake Lodge is a good choice. Get dripping wet paddling on Vermilion River, and going for a hike on the Taconite Trail is always a great adventure. That right there is loads already, but it carries on; Winchester Lake has it all. Go for a hike on the Canfield Portage.
