Lakes are great; Kauppi Lake is a lake that's in the neighborhood of Lake Williams, and St. Louis River is a perfect whitewater spot close by. If you need a site to stay Super 8 Eveleth is a nice choice; this is a popular site for people from Duluth. This lake is so wonderful. In the event that you don't mind getting wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Cloquet River. There's so much to do here at Lake Williams that you need to camp here for a while,

The river is at least 100 miles long. I've paddled from Katherine Lake to the St. Louis River and there is plenty of river to paddle besides the section from US 53 to US 2. The top section, from Katherine Lake to Lake Co #2 is an especially wild ride, and I've only done it once, but the drop is incredible, sometimes like a logging flume.... |
