The winter comes with highs in the 10's with temperatures at Wilbur Lake dipping down into the-10's through winter nights. Whitewater paddling is tremendous on St. Croix River, and a lake close by is Chain Lakes. This lake is so wonderful. Wilbur Lake is a fine place to       visit for more than one day, Paint Rock Spring Campground is a fine place to camp nearby, and nearby you find the Markville Snowmobile Trail which is a great hiking trail. Lodge at Crooked Lake is a pleasant site to get some rest, and there is a wonderful hiking trail close by called the Minnesota-Wisconsin Boundary State Trail. Old Logging Trail Campground is a magnificent campground nearby, and dry warm beds await you at Best Western Northwoods Lodge.                  So many fun things to do at Wilbur Lake, so little time. You could also explore Lake Olive if you're here at Wilbur Lake; it's close by, and in the event that you don’t have a problem getting wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Lower Tamarack River.
