     Rodeway Inn Pine River is a great spot to get some rest, as expected you could also stop at Sand Lake while you're here; it's not far at all. If you want a glorious time in the great outdoors, just come on down to Widow Lake. Here at Widow Lake there are plenty of folks from Brainerd; if you need a spot to stay Trappers Landing Lodge is a good choice. Have a great hiking adventure along the Lake Erin Trail. This lake is so wonderful. There's so much to do here  
   at Widow Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Austin's Swamp is a great site for that, and Widow Lake is right by the Goose Lake Trail System.
You'll need more than a day to look at everything Widow Lake has to offer, you can camp at Deer Acres; a lake close by is I X L Lake. While you're here at Widow Lake you must stop by Bungey Bay; hiking along the North Country Trail is glorious fun. At Widow Lake throughout the days of summer highs are in
 
               the 70's while nighttime lows are generally in the 50's. For the period of the winter highs are in the 10's with winter lows in the-10's overnight here at Widow Lake.
An average amount of rainfall falls at Widow Lake; June is the wettest month with most rain while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation.

... of our favorite Minnesota campgrounds and we stay here several times each summer. We love that it is right on a lake and that many of the sites have their own little beach. The campground is quiet and the sites˙ are screened from one another for privacy. I hate to even post a review out of the fear that our favorite camping secret will become everyone's camping favorite. It is close enough to Longville˙ and Remer that you can run in for ice and supplies as needed. One small hint that I will pass on is that you might want to stop in Longville or Hackensack to buy your˙ firewood as the campground does not have any for sale.Mabel Lake campground is not on a campsite reservation system but we have never had a problem finding a site here. We discovered this campground as a result of finding one of the more popular Leech Lake campgrounds full. Once we found Mabel Lake, we never bothered with the other campgrounds in the area again.
