Caribou Highlands Lodge is a splendid site to get some rest, and Poplar River is a nice whitewater spot nearby. This lake is so wonderful. After a long day outdoors Americinn - Tofte, Mn is a great place to spend a night or two, and White Pine Lake is good enough to spend more than a day at, Poplar River Campground is a good local campground. If you don't mind getting drenched, you       can always go whitewater paddling on Temperance River, and the snow is magnificent at Lutsen. High temperatures at White Pine Lake through the summer are in the 70's while overnight lows are generally in the 50's. During the wintertime this place gets highs in the 10's while the cold winter nights at White Pine Lake are in the-10's. Lakes? Sure, Christine Lake is in the neighborhood, and great hiking is available along the Honeymoon Trail. The North Shore State                  Trail offers hiking at its best. The yearly precipitation here at White Pine Lake is about average; August is the wettest month with most rain, and February meanwhile is the driest month. Life's too short to enjoy all the enjoyable things in the vicinity of White Pine Lake.
