The warmest time of the year at Whisker Lake arrives with high temperatures in the 70's with overnight lows in the 50's. For the period of the winter highs are typically in the 10's, and winter nights come with lows in the-10's to Whisker Lake. If you came for an overnight stay Gateway-hungry Jack Lodge is a magnificent place to camp, and Frances Bay is in the neighborhood and always glorious to have a look       at. This lake is so wonderful. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Cascade River; going for a hike on the Rib Lake Trail is always a brilliant adventure. Why not camp at Gunflint Pines since you're here at Whisker Lake, and do go to Little Rush Lake, it's a pretty lake. There are some tremendous whitewater spots on Cascade River, and nearby you come across the South Lake Portage which is a nice hiking trail. Don't stop me now, cause I'm havin' a glorious                  time here at Whisker Lake. What would winter be without some skiing at Lutsen, and there is a wonderful hiking trail close by called the Height of Land Portage.
