You'll need more than a day to explore everything Western Lake has to offer, you can camp at Sioux River Campground. If you need a place to stay Grand Ely Lodge Resort and Conference Center is a fine choice. There's so much to do here at Western Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Mc Kinley Park Campground is a brilliant place for that. This lake is so wonderful. Why not take a refreshing hike along the       Stuart Portage, and Giants Ridge has brilliant slopes and a friendly staff. Summertime highs at Western Lake mostly tend to be in the 70's with overnight lows in the 40's. Throughout the wintertime the highs are regularly in the 10's; winter nights come with lows in the-20's to Western Lake. All the outdoors exciting stuff near Western Lake will keep you coming back over and over. You could also stop by Glenmore Lake since you're here at Western Lake; it's                  close by. Western Lake is not the only spot close by, Buck Lake is a close by lake, and there's great hiking along the Echo Trail.
