Welch Lake Impoundment is wonderful enough to spend more than a day at, Middle Pigeon River Campground is a wonderful local campground; Welch Lake Dam is a pretty site. All through the warm days of summer, highs frequently are in the 70's at Welch Lake Impoundment; the overnight is a tad cooler of course, regularly in the 50's. Daytime highs all through the winter are in the 10's       with temperatures at Welch Lake Impoundment dipping down into the-10's all through winter nights. Go for a hike on the Elmwood Island Trail System. Welch Lake Impoundment is a good location of typical rainfall; of all the months in a year June is the one with the most rain, and the driest month of the year is February. Don't leave Welch Lake Impoundment without first going for a hike along the Lost '40' Trail, and camping at West Seelye Campground is always                  a great experience. This lake is so wonderful.
