There are good sites to discover along the Cutfoot Sioux National Recreation Trail. There's so much to do here at Welch Lake that you need to camp here for a while, West Seelye Campground is a tremendous place for that. High temperatures at Welch Lake during the long summer days are in the 70's, and through the night it cools down to the 50's. The winter comes       with highs in the 10's while the cold winter nights at Welch Lake are in the-10's. The annual rain here at Welch Lake is about average; most of the rain falls through June while February is usually the driest month. Going for a hike on the Lost '40' Trail is always a tremendous adventure, and if you need a spot to stay Americinn - Blackduck, Mn is a magnificent choice. There is a pleasant hiking trail close to Welch Lake called the Elmwood Island Trail                  System.
