     Hiking along the Canfield Portage is wonderful fun; if you came to camp Lake Jeanette Campground is a fine place to do that. Don't forget to take a splendid little journey to Triumph Creek; lakes are such peaceful sites, why not visit Triumph Lake. There's so much to do here at Van Vac Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Sioux River Campground is a perfect site for that; going for a hike along the Beatty Portage will let you absorb the natural beauty  
   of this neighborhood.
This lake is so wonderful. The best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of nearby Giants Ridge, and you'll find a scenic lake called Canthook Lake. During the warm months here at Van Vac Lake, high temperatures mostly get into the 70's, and the night is fairly cooler of course, typically in the 40's. High temperatures throughout the wintertime are normally in the 10's while Van Vac Lake night low temperatures through the wintertime
 
               are in the-20's. The yearly rain here at Van Vac Lake is about average; the wettest month of the year is typically June, that's the one that rains the most, and February on the other hand is the driest.
Now, you may think that's a heap but there's even more enjoyable stuff to do here at Van Vac Lake. Get wet paddling on Vermilion River; do take a hike on the Echo Trail.
