Take a hike on the Thorhult Waskish Trail. Upper Red Lake is generally a rather dried out place; of all the months in a year June is the one with the most rain; the driest of the months is February. Hilman Lake is a nearby lake that you could pop by, and if you came for an overnight stay Roger's On Red Lake Campground is a great place to camp. This lake is so wonderful. If you need a place to stay Americinn - Blackduck,       Mn is a fine choice, and Rogers' Campground and R.V. Park is a glorious local campground. A lake close by is Mud River Reservoir, and Upper Red Lake is a location with many visitors from Bemidji. At Upper Red Lake during the long summer days highs are in the 70's with nighttime lows in the 50's.
