There's good hiking along the Wasson Lake Trail, and Upper Hanson Lake is a brilliant place to visit for more than one day, Prairie Lake Campground is a brilliant place to camp nearby. This lake is one of the great places here in the Mesabi       Range. From a precipitation point of view Upper Hanson Lake is a quite normal spot; most of the rain falls throughout July; February meanwhile is the driest month. Good hiking is available along the Skeeter Lake Trail System, and you can stay the night at Grand Rapids Camping and Recreation. For the duration of the warm days of summer, highs frequently are in the 70's at Upper Hanson Lake with nighttime lows in the 50's. The cold days of the winter come                  with highs in the 10's with winter lows in the-20's overnight here at Upper Hanson Lake.
