The amount of rain that falls at Turtle Lake is close to the national average; the month of August is the wettest with most of the rain, and February is when it's the driest. Why not take a refreshing hike along the North Shore State Trail, and Caribou Highlands Lodge is a good site to get some rest. You think that's enough? Just getting warmed up. After a long day outdoors Super 8 Motel       - Grand Marais is a perfect place to spend a night or two, and Lutsen has tremendous slopes and a friendly staff. Hiking along the Height of Land Portage is pleasant fun. There's so much to do here at Turtle Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Cascade River Campground is a great place for that. This lake is so wonderful. Turtle Lake is right by the Honeymoon Trail, and Turtle Lake is good enough to spend more than a day at, Devil Lake Campground                  is a good local campground. There are some magnificent whitewater spots on Cascade River; don't miss out on a tour to Apostle Islands National Lakeshore if you're here. All through the months of summer highs here at Turtle Lake get into the 70's, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 50's.
