It's a great idea to explore Ball Club Creek, it's in the vicinity of Tunmore Lake, and after a long day outdoors Eagle Ridge Resort at Lutsen Mountains is a brilliant spot to spend a night or two. This lake is so wonderful. There's so much to do here at Tunmore Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Two Island Lake Campground is a fine place for that; a tremendous close by hotel is Super 8 Grand Marais. | | of the tremendous skiing at Lutsen. A normal amount of rain falls here at Tunmore Lake; the wettest month of the year is mostly August, that's the one that rains the most, and the driest of the months is February.
Get soaked paddling on Cascade River; going for a hike on the North Shore State Trail is always a pleasant adventure. Whitewater paddling is wonderful on Cascade River, and don't leave Tunmore Lake without first going for a hike along the Height of Land | |

Two Island Lake Campground
 | I have only been there in the winter waiting for the mushers to come through (for the Beargease Marathon), it is where I want my ashes to be. I missed one year of the Beargrease race (1998) but the next year I was there at Two Island it was a full moon and it was snowing at the same time, could see down the trail like it was daylight but it was snowing....that was my sign...like I didn't fall in love with it before...this is a beautiful place, small camground but nice in the summer. jkf... |
