A lake nearby is Mirage Lake, and why not pop by nearby Puff Creek since you're here at Tittle Lake. This lake is so wonderful. There's nice hiking along the Vaseux Portage, and Tittle Lake is nice enough to spend more than a day at, Kimball Lake Campground is a nice local campground. This spot is great, just check out all the amusing things to do near Tittle Lake. Good hiking is available along the Lesser Cherry Portage, and after a long day outdoors Best

| | Western Superior Inn & Suites is a glorious place to spend a night or two. This lake is so wonderful.
Grand Portage National Monument is a tremendous local destination here at Tittle Lake, and a tremendous place for whitewater paddling is Brule River. All through the summertime highs here at Tittle Lake reach the 70's with night lows in the 50's. Daytime highs throughout the wintertime are in the 10's with temperatures at Tittle Lake dipping down into the-10's | |

through winter nights. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Tittle Lake; Great Cherry Portage is a great local trail, and a great spot to camp here at Tittle Lake is Grand Marais Recreation Area.

Bay Suites is a brilliant choice, and Bronco Lake is a nearby lake that you could pop by. A typical amount of rain falls here at Tittle Lake; August is the month that gets the most rain, and the driest month of the year is February.

Trout Lake
 | Trout Lake approx 14 Northwest of Grand Marais,MN and then 4 miles east on #140 (Trout Lake Road)to the lake. Mink and Kimball lakes are also accessed by this road. BOATERS BEWARE - the public landing is a ''carry in landing'' meaning no trailered launches here. If you prefer you can launch at Trout Lake Resort for a fee of $5 to $10 but their landing is shallow as well and very rocky. NO BIG BOATS can get in and that's the way the folks at the resort like it. A boat with a ten h.p. will do the trick. In fact the folks at Trout Lake Resort will rent you one if they are not reserved by the resort guests for ~$35 for 1/2 day. The like is super clear and boasts lake trout and rainbows. We caught one rainbow on a lazy fishing/swimming expedition and another boat on the lake caught a small laker and one rainbow. This lake would be real fun for trout in the spring when they are near the surface but they can be found by trolling in 20 to 30' along the shore lines in late summer as well as the deeper spots.... |
