If the weather is brilliant here at Three Island Lake, you can go for a hike along the Carter Lake Trail, and Fox Lake Dam is a picturesque location, absolutely worth going to. This lake is so wonderful. The Webster Lake Trail System is a perfect hiking trail in the neighborhood of Three Island Lake. is a splendid location to get some rest. This lake is so wonderful. The cheerful folks of Bemidji like to hang out close by, and what would winter be without some skiing at Buena Vista. There's so much to do here at Three Island Lake
that you need to camp here for a while, Joe's Lodge is a great spot for that, and if you've had enough of Three Island Lake, Black Lake is close by.
You'll need more than a day to discover everything Three Island Lake has to offer,
you can camp at Hamilton's Fox Lake Campground; if you need a site to stay Hampton Inn Suites Bemidji is a nice choice. Three Island Lake is not the only place close by, Beltrami Lake is a close by lake, and going for a hike along the Meadow Lake Trail System will let you absorb the natural beauty of this area.

A pair of loons nest in the narrows, and 8 pair of Canadian Gesse nest in the wetland on the west side of the upper lake, raising aproximently 30 young each year. The Beavor and Otters are also in heaven on this lake. It has good fishing for Northern, Bass, Blue Gills , and Crappies.
