Thomson Reservoir is a great lake in an area with lots of outdoors fun all around. A glorious place for whitewater paddling near Thomson Reservoir is Midway River; Thomson Reservoir is a good site to visit for more than one day, Knife Island Campground is a good site to camp nearby. Lakes are nice; Venoah Lake is a lake that's near Thomson Reservoir, and great skiing awaits you at Spirit Mountain. The annual rainfall here at Thomson Reservoir is about average;

This lake is so wonderful. Wilderness Hills Golf Course is a golf course right next door to Thomson Reservoir, and obviously Crystal Creek flows through this neighborhood. You just can't imagine the amount of outdoors entertaining things the area in close proximity to Thomson Reservoir has to offer. Thomson Dam is not far at all from Thomson Reservoir, and Super 8 Motel Cloquet is a perfect place to
get some rest. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Thomson Reservoir has to offer, you can camp at K O A Kampgrounds; dry warm beds await you at Americinn - Carlton, Mn. This lake is so wonderful.

The river is at least 100 miles long. I've paddled from Katherine Lake to the St. Louis River and there is plenty of river to paddle besides the section from US 53 to US 2. The top section, from Katherine Lake to Lake Co #2 is an especially wild ride, and I've only done it once, but the drop is incredible, sometimes like a logging flume.... |

Eagle's Nest Resort doesn't have any campsites for rent but they do have nice cabins instead....This is great publicity but I am wondering how this information was put on the internet. We are always listed as a resort with cabin rentals. our 7 site seasonal campground that has not had an opening for several years, so it is never listed under campgrounds. Sorry for the misinformation, just curious as to where it was recieved. ... |
