This lake is so wonderful. If you need a location to stay Super 8 Grand Marais is a pleasant choice; there is a brilliant hiking trail close by called the North Shore State Trail. And that's not all you can do here at Thompson Lake. Very pretty scenery and pleasant skiing is what you get at Lutsen, and why not camp at Devil Lake Campground since you're here at Thompson       Lake. There are some pleasant whitewater spots on Cascade River; if you came for an overnight stay Cascade River Campground is a splendid spot to camp. Thompson Lake is not the only location close by, Two Island Lake is a close by lake, and don't forget to take a great little visit to Junco Creek. All through the days of summer highs here at Thompson Lake reach the 70's, and through summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. The wintertime comes with highs                  in the 10's, and after the sun is down during the winter temperatures at Thompson Lake drop into the-10's. This lake is so wonderful. The amount of precipitation that falls at Thompson Lake is close to the national average; through the month of August you get the most rain around here, and February on the other hand is the driest.
